Melbourne 2000 - City of the 3rd Millennium

Melbourne 2000: January 1, 2000. Commencing on December 31, 1999, the dawning of the millennium will be celebrated with a family-oriented party into the wee hours that includes spectacular fireworks, street celebrations and performances.

The epicentre of the celebrations will be the Old Exhibition Building, the Museum of Victoria and Carlton Gardens.
