Millennium Dome seeks suppliers, contractors
Greenwich, 17 April 1998
Companies all over the UK could be in for a busy run-up the to the year 2000 as the Millennium Dome organisers, The New Millennium Experience Company announced over £15 million (US$ 22 million) worth of contracts to be let over the next 12 months.
Companies nation-wide are being asked to submit brief company details in order to register for the contracts, supplying such hugely diverse services as fork lift trucks, PA and lighting systems, costume fabrication, trapeze equipment and even wigs.
At this stage, all companies have to do is write or fax brief company information, address, and fax details and their interest will be registered. A "long" list of suppliers for each separate contract will be produced and as each contract comes up for tendering, individual companies will be contacted and asked to provide more information and a full tender. They will also be sent a tender pack and will be given a deadline to reply.
Interested companies should write to the New Millennium Experience Company at the following address and MUST quote the following reference:
Reference RM/9020
New Millennium Experience Company
110 Buckingham Palace Road
London
SW1W 9SB
Companies can also fax details (as brief as possible) to 0171-808-8240. Due to the expected heavy volume of applications, NMEC cannot enter into individual correspondence at this stage.
Notes:
- There are no geographical limitations on where contracts can be awarded. All that is required is the ability to meet tight deadlines and to budget.
- NMEC cannot accept phone calls on these contracts at this stage. Potential contractors wishing to register an interest must either write to NMEC or fax their details.
- NMEC intends to have a number of preferred suppliers. Potential suppliers and contractors can obtain a list of services and equipment required by contacting the address above. Within the total £15 million (estimate), there will be a number of small value contracts with niche suppliers, as well as larger contracts.
