Nick Raynsford MPA Brief Pen pictureNick has been the Member of Parliament for Greenwich since 1992. He was born in 1945 and is married with three children. He has been since 1994 the Shadow Minister for Housing and Construction and Spokesperson for London. In the 1997 General Election he won the enlarged Greenwich and Woolwich constituency and was appointed Minister for London and Construction in the Department of Environment and Transport. He as previously from 1993 to 1994 the Front Bench Spokesperson for London. Prior to that from 1992 to 1993 he was a member of the House of Commons Environmental Select Committee. From 1986 until 1987 he was the parliamentary member for Fulham. Earlier he was a councillor in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham from 1971 until 1975. He was a Director of Raynsford & Morris, Housing Consultants from 1987 until 1992 and from 1976 until 1986 he was director of SHAC, The London Housing Aid Centre. He previous employment included SCD; The Society of Co-operative Dwellings and AC Nielen, Market Research. Author of "A Guide to Housing Benefits" (First Edition 1982) and a member of the National Energy Foundation from 1989 until 1993. His academic qualifications include a Degree in History from the University of Cambridge in 1966 and a Diploma in Art and Design at the Chelsea School of Art (1972)
