Greenwich2000 - Heritage - Silver Screen

Greenwich on the silver screen (& the small screen)

Hardly a day goes by without a film crew being found in Greenwich.
You have probably seen Greenwich many times on films, movies or the TV without knowing it.
It is often used as Washington DC, USA & other locations.

Up & Coming:

The Secret Agent

20th Century Fox
with Bob Hoskins & Eddie Izzard
Filmed in Greenwich Park & the Old Observatory at Greenwich
Already released in USA - UK dates awaited

Now on video:

The Madness of King George (III)

Channel 4 Films
Starring Nigel Hawthorne & Helen Mirren
Filmed in Royal Naval College at Greenwich

TV:

ITV: 'Beadles About' made extensive use of a shop located in a small parade of shops where South St. and the High St. meet, opposite Greenwich Station & Prince of Orange pub.
The 'humour' was that a new employee would be left alone in the shop, and a clumsy family would come in and knock everything over.
Channel 4: 'Prospects' about 5 years ago, used Greenwich Park and often had shots of Greenwich taken from the Island of Dogs.
