St Alfege Church

Greenwich Church St, Greenwich , London SE10

Dedicated to the Archbishop of Canterbury who was martyred here in 1012. Designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor (1714). General James Wolfe (victor of Battle of Quebec) & Thomas Tallis (father of English Church music) are both buried here.
Henry VIII was baptised on this site. Samuel Pepy's Diary mentions the church.
