You have probably seen Greenwich many times on films, movies or the TV without knowing it.

Blow up (1966)
Winner of "palme d'or" - 1967 Cannes Film Festival
Featuring David Hemmings and Directed by Michaelangelo Antonioni was filmed partly in Maryon Park, Charlton. The story was based on a mysterious murder that occurred in the park and was inadvertantly photographed by Hemmings.
The film has been screened recently on Channel 4 TV and shows tennis courts, and some unusual Dutch style terraced houses which appear to overlook the park....."
The park has survived surprisingly well 30 years on. Quite a time warp in many respects.
The "Dutch" style houses are in fact the backs of houses on woodland terrace (which were painted white in 1966 and consequently appeared to be close boarded ), now totally obscured by the mature trees.

British TV programmes:
The Saturday morning TV programme Going Live had two comedians called 'Trevor and Simon' who used to do humorous sketches. Their second video entitled 'Trevor and Simon - The Other Video' had a take-off of the classic Ninja films called 'Ninja Day Off' which was filmed entirely in Greenwich. It features the foot tunnel, the Post Office, Greenwich High Street, the park and climaxes with a a sword fight using French loaves on the bandstand in the park. A brilliant performance by two performers who achieved cult status in Greyladies Gardens, Greenwich, but little heard of elsewhere. Or do you remember it?
London's Burning (ITV): popular series based on the London Fire Brigade; often filmed on location in and around Greenwich. The webmaster sees them when walking the dog!
'Beadles About' (ITV) made extensive use of a shop located in a small parade of shops where South St. and the High St. meet, opposite Greenwich Station & Prince of Orange pub.
The 'humour' was that a new employee would be left alone in the shop, and a clumsy family would come in and knock everything over.
Prospects (Channel 4) about 5 years ago, used Greenwich Park and often had shots of Greenwich taken from the Island of Dogs.
