Millennium Cycle Paths
The National Cycle Network was the very first national project to be chosen to mark the new Millennium. UKP42 million (over four years) was awarded towards the "Millennium Routes", the first 2,500 miles of the Network.
Local Authorities and other project managing bodies have already started receiving allocations from the Millennium award. The grant, however, is less than a quarter of the total cost of UKP183m for the Millennium Routes.
